What I build

C#/.NET and C++/Qt desktop applications for medical devices, machine vision, and digital imaging, plus the Python services, libraries, and infrastructure behind them. Through Artifice Machine, the same discipline goes into AI and agentic tooling: MCP servers, multi-agent orchestration, and self-hosted LLM infrastructure.

Most of it is instrument software: an operator needs to see what a device measured, trust it, and act on it. That means deliberate GUI architecture, deterministic behaviour on constrained hardware, and tests that demonstrate the requirement was met.

Medical device software

From June 2024 to June 2026 I built production C++/Qt-QML desktop application software for an FDA-cleared medical device, under IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 design controls.

I designed and maintained the Qt-QML MVVM frontend, and integrated Blender-generated renders of hardware instrumentation into the application UI. I contributed to the Design History File: software architecture and detailed design, SOUP component audits, ISO 14971 design controls, and requirements traceability in Codebeamer. Requirements were written first, with code and tests derived from them.

Imaging and instrumentation

At Teledyne DALSA I developed algorithms and application software for digital imaging libraries, improving imaging capability and pipeline performance, and built C++ and C# WPF/MVVM applications for customer-facing imaging products.

At CRIM I led a five-developer team and delivered a dermatology clinician-in-the-loop platform: React and TypeScript frontend, Python FastAPI backend, a C++ inference core exposed through pybind11, a PostgreSQL schema, and containerized deployment on self-hosted infrastructure.

Artifice Machine

Artifice Machine is my independent practice, founded in 2022 and run in parallel with full-time roles. It is where the work published on this site lives. Employer work and Artifice Machine projects are separate: nothing here reproduces an employer's code, data, or documentation.

Through Artifice Machine I work on AI and agentic tooling, self-hosted LLM infrastructure, MCP servers, and CI/CD security tooling — the same engineering discipline applied to a smaller stack.
